What happened to DMX and how did he die?
According to Vulture, DMX update of official cause of death was a cocaine-induced heart attack that rendered him “brain dead.”
“There was no blood flow to the brain for some time because he suffered a cardiac arrest,” a source told the outlet.
An artist’s urine was found to contain traces of acute cocaine intoxication. The source explained that cocaine intoxication “caused this chain of events.”
DMX’s cause of death had already been determined by medical professionals and based on documentation by police, the source stated.
Medics arrived on the scene just six minutes after someone called for emergency help on the date of the rapper’s death at 10.03pm, according to the source.
The rapper was then revived before he was taken to the hospital, where he arrived 30-to-40 minutes later, according to the source.
The rapper suffered a heart attack due to the drug overdose, according to a source close to him quoted by TMZ.
The news comes as the Ruff Riders Anthem singer remained in hospital in a “vegetative state,” while another source reported that the musician had “some brain activity.”

Earl loved his family to the very end. We cherish the time we spent with him and will never forget him.
This statement noted that “Earl’s music inspired countless fans around the world and he will remain an icon for all time.”
“The world knew DMX as DMX”‘s family requested privacy during the grieving process.
Update Drug addiction on DMX
He has openly addressed his drug addiction in his songs and has struggled with it throughout his adult life.
After suffering a drug overdose in Westchester, New York, DMX stopped breathing and had no pulse, Page Six reported in 2016.
Luckily, a medic was on hand to administer Narcan, an anti-opioid used to reverse the effects of heroin overdose.
The rapper became semiconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was treated.
